Maybe we’re getting jaded in our old age but in this thirteenth year of the second millennium hasn’t everything got a little too formulaic? Here’s some of the things we’re a bit tired of seeing over and over again. X Factor and its contrived sob stories. Cars that look like stormtroopers’ helmets. Tories knocking the weak and poor. Labour knocking the employers. Downton Abbey pretending that social division is somehow romantic. Smartphones, tablets, phablets all bringing out new models that are very slightly better than the old models so they can rake in a bit more cash. Pigeons. Morons with pit bulls that are marginally more intelligent than their owners. Everyone demanding ‘respec’ but no one giving any. Chicken wings (honestly, it’s the bit of a chicken that’s so useless not even chickens want them!). Stuff that doesn’t work how it’s advertised to. Customer service that’s actually ‘corporate apathy’.
We could go on but what’s the point. Suffice to say, it’s time for some new thinking people. Let’s imagine something different, something better.
